Hello, thanks for visiting! I'm Sel, a Product Designer who finds joy in tackling challenging problems and coming up with delightful solutions for them. I work best with a communicative bunch who are always open to give and seek feedback.

Why I do the work I do

(in short, why I design—teehee)

Designing for a cause

I want my design to help solve problems that can benefit a cause. May it be designing a system for a small sector in the community or for a product that can provide an accessible design for all.

Designing for an effect

I want the solutions I design to have a long-lasting effect and impression for the people who use it. Through the products I help build, I aim to empower, elevate, and delight users.

Wanna know my secret?

(well, not-so-secret, but this is how I work!)
I set up a structure and get organized

I work and thrive best in a structured and organized setting. I like to share my detailed plans and milestones to build a strong foundation for the project, and at the same time manage my client’s expectations.

I communicate my iterations

I make it a habit to frequently share drafts and works in progress for review with the team. These kinds of projects are a two-way street for me: I ask for honest and constructive feedbacks so I can get work done and deliver as promised.

I design with the users in mind

I create designs that prioritize the needs and wants of the users. To do that, I start every project by getting to know the users through thorough research. I come back with insights I can use to approach the design of the product.

I solve problems

Design isn’t just about making things pretty, it should also work. Through my designs, I aim to solve problems the users and the client alike may be having.

My life outside design

(suprisingly, i have a life outside work.)

In my spare time, I like to play video games on my Nintendo switch and PC.

To complete my life, I have a wonderful and energetic dog named Grey. He is a shih tzu-husky mix—an abomination, I know— but I love him very very very much 💜
